VMCH Disability Services is a registered support coordination provider for the NDIS.
Our support coordinators help individuals establish and organise the services they want as part of their approved NDIS plan.
Zoe Campbell is member of VMCH's support coordination team. She describes it as a rewarding job, she gets to meet interesting people and there are lots of opportunities to make a difference.
The role of a support coordinator is to navigate a participant through their NDIS plan and to assist with implementing suitable supports. We have the opportunity to assist the participant to build capacity and to achieve their personal goals.
Our days are extremely varied, keeping us very busy attending regular meetings with participants, their informal supports and external stakeholders. We source service providers and create action plans for participants to achieve goals, while following up on enquires and preparing reports.
We assist the participants with challenges as they arise, working towards a positive outcome.
I enjoy the diversity of the role and assisting participants to receive the correct supports,
Witnessing participants to build capacity and working towards achieving their goals provides me with a sense of joy, achievement and satisfaction as I have been able to be a part of their journey. Our close knit team provides an environment that energises me to support our participants which makes it easy to come to work.
We’re all different but, that’s what makes life interesting.
Inclusion to me is everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, with no exclusion of race, religion, gender, disability, age and wealth.
I have two grandchildren that I like spending time with and having lots of fun.
I enjoy gardening, drawing, and renovating my home with my husband.
Throughout the week and weekend I will socialise with friends, go out for dinner and attend live music shows.
